Instagram has launched its TikTok counterpart in over 50 countries.

The Reels service started working amid TikTok’s troubles in the US.

Instagram has launched a new story format – Reels. The service has been launched in more than 50 countries around the world, including the USA, Great Britain, Japan, Australia. Russia is not among them, since it will be available only in those countries where the music sticker is currently used.

“Reels is not available in countries where we do not have music rights. In those countries, people can watch Reels content, but do not hear the music “- clarified in the press service of Facebook in Russia.

Reels allows you to create TikTok-format videos: 15-second videos to which you can add music, AR effects, change the playback speed.

When creating videos on Instagram, you can use music from other videos, find it by hashtags, or select from the Facebook collection. The result can be shared with your followers, a list of “best friends” or shown to a wider audience in the new Explore section. The most popular videos will be displayed in a dedicated tab.
