Leak: new wallpaper settings and roaming widgets in iOS 14

Insider DongleBookPro, who previously showed screenshots of the CarKey system, shared images that show some of the innovations of the upcoming iOS 14.

Screenshots confirm that Apple is working on separate collections of wallpapers that group images into themes — for example, Classic Stripes, Earth & Moon, and Flowers. In previous versions of iOS, there was no such separation, and all wallpapers were shown together.

Also on the screenshots you can see the option “Appearance of the main screen”, reminiscent of the dial settings from the application for the Apple Watch. When it is turned on, users will be able to choose dynamic wallpapers that include several modes, including a blurred background and a dark version of the wallpaper.

Also in 9to5Mac they found in the iOS 14 code the presence of a function with the working name Avocado – it is associated with the Springboard application that controls the main screen.

This suggests that Apple is introducing for the first time real widgets for the iPhone and iPad home screen – they can be moved, just like application icons. The publication indicates that the function is still being tested and may not appear in the final assembly.
