Despite the fact that Huawei is actively developing its own store of applications and services, alternative to Google, the Chinese corporation hopes to resume cooperation with Google. This was stated in an interview with Wired by the head of Huawei, Richard Yu. He noted that everyone won from the partnership between the two companies.
“I hope we can get a license from the US authorities. We are open to this. In addition, this is in the interests of American companies, ” said Richard Yu. He emphasized that Huawei wants to provide the user with as many choices as possible, and the Google Play Store is useful for this.
As for Huawei’s own app store, it will take 1-2 years for the company to fill it with all the popular apps. Richard Yu also commented on rumors that Huawei, in partnership with Xiaomi and Vivo, could launch a joint catalog of mobile programs. According to him, this option is being considered, but nevertheless, Huawei would prefer to cooperate with Google.
