The last grandiose heavenly event of this year (if only Betelgeuse did not break out a supernova) happened today. The maximum phase of the solar eclipse on December 26, 2019 was observed on the Arabian Peninsula, in India and Indonesia. A partial eclipse could be seen by residents of Kazakhstan, Central Asia, the North Caucasus, the Far East, Australia, etc.
This eclipse was ring-shaped. This means that in the maximum phase, the moon only partially covered the sun. So the lucky ones could observe a circle of fire in the sky.
