Actress Hannah Karin Blanque Bayer, a Danish by birth, was born in Copenhagen in 1940. At home, she sang in a cabaret and worked as a fashion model. In 1958, she moved to Paris and, on the advice of Coco Chanel, took the pseudonym Anna Karina.
