Huawei November 25 launches in Russia sales of the Mate 30 Pro – the first smartphone without Google services. It can be bought only by pre-order for 40-50 thousand rubles in the official online store. This was reported by Kommersant with reference to its sources.
The interlocutor of journalists said that in Russia there will be a limited batch of devices that will allow Russian users to get used to the new mobile platform: the smartphone runs on Android 10, but does not support services and the Google app store.
Huawei did not comment on the start of sales, but talked about the development of its own mobile ecosystem in Russia. “Now we are recruiting employees for the ecosystem department for our consumer electronics products,” said Tony Run, director of the Huawei Consumer Business Group in Russia.
According to him, in the mobile ecosystem of Huawei has more than 50 thousand applications. In Russia, the AppGallery app store launched in April 2018. “We expect that by the end of 2019, 100 million users in Europe and Russia will use it,” they said in Huawei.
On September 19, Huawei introduced the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro smartphones, the company’s first Android devices without Google services due to U.S. sanctions.
