The Royal Spanish Football Federation has approved the date of the next confrontation between Barcelona and Real Madrid in the tenth round of “examples”. As reported on the organization’s website, the match will be held December 18.
Initially, the teams were supposed to play with each other on October 26, but the match was postponed due to mass protests in Barcelona. The leadership of the league suggested holding a meeting on December 4, but the federation supported the proposal of the teams.
The riots in Barcelona began on October 14 due to sentences of 12 Catalan politicians who were found to be involved in an illegal referendum. They were accused of rebellion. By decision of the Supreme Court of Spain, nine of them received 9 to 13 years in prison. Three more were fined for disobedience.
