In Japan, 19 people died due to the strongest typhoon in 60 years

Another 16 people are missing.

The number of victims of the Hagibis typhoon that hit Japan over the weekend rose to 19. Another 16 people are reported missing and at least 150 were injured of varying severity.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing in the country, in which police and the army are involved. Residents of flooded houses in some regions are evacuated by plane.

Tokyo airports have resumed operations, but rail service is still limited.

Typhoon “Hagibis” is called the strongest in 60 years. The main blow came in Japan on Saturday, October 12th. Day after tens of thousands of buildings are left without electricity.
