GoPro Introduces Action Camera 8 Hero Black and Max Camera for 360 Degree Shooting

For the first time, the Hero camera does not need an external mount: it is built into the case.

GoPro introduced on October 1 two action cameras: GoPro Hero 8 Black and GoPro Max. As The Verge explains, the first camera can be supplemented with mods, and the second is equipped with two lenses for shooting panoramic video.

Hero 8 Black records 4K video at 60 frames per second. The camera is equipped with HyperSmooth 2.0 stabilization system and TimeWarp 2.0 video acceleration function. The main feature of the model’s case was the integrated GoPro mount. Now the camera does not need frames and external mounts. Also Hero 8 Black supports additional accessories – mods: microphones, backlight, additional display, tripods and others.

GoPro Max is equipped with front and rear lenses. After recording, two pictures from them are combined into a panorama. The camera records video in 5.6K resolution at 30 frames per second. Sound is recorded using six microphones. The device has a built-in touch screen with a preview function.

Max is not the first GoPro camera that can shoot 360-degree video. However, the company calls the previous devices bulky and inconvenient: Max is almost as compact as conventional GoPro action cameras.

In Russia, the GoPro Hero 8 Black will go on sale on November 22 at a price of 34 990 rubles, GoPro Max will be available on October 25 for 42 990 rubles.
