Actress Felicity Huffman, known for her role as Lynette Scavo in the series Desperate Housewives, was sentenced to 14 days in prison in a fraud case, CNN reports .

According to investigators, in 2017, Huffman paid $ 15,000 to the head of the university preparation university, William Singer, to help her daughter pass the test and go to a prestigious college. The actress pleaded guilty, but stated that her daughter did not know about the agreement.

In addition to two weeks of imprisonment, Huffman must pay a fine of 30 thousand dollars. She was also assigned 250 hours of correctional labor.

Earlier, the US Department of Justice said that in 2011-2019, William Singer in exchange for bribes helped dozens of people to go to American colleges.
