Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 8 Pro with the market’s first 64-megapixel camera. The smartphone was also equipped with three other sensors: wide-angle with a resolution of 8 MP, as well as a macro camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. This is stated in the blog on the Xiaomi website.
The main sensor in Redmi Note 8 Pro was Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1. It used pixels of the same size as in 48 MP cameras, however, the Samsung sensor will be able to catch more light due to the increase in physical size.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro camera will by default shoot in 16 MP resolution, combining light data from six pixels. The same principle works in smartphones 48-megapixel sensors. Xiaomi claims that photos from a smartphone can be printed on a canvas 3.26 meters high – and they will remain high-quality.
In addition to the camera, Redmi Note 8 Pro equipped with a 6.55-inch display with Full HD-resolution and a built-in fingerprint sensor on the screen. The smartphone received a MediaTek Helio G90T processor, designed for comfortable gaming, 8 GB of RAM, as well as 64 or 128 GB of internal memory.
The case of the device is made of Gorilla Glass 5 and is protected from moisture and dust according to the IP52 standard. The device received a 4,500 mAh battery – the most capacious in the history of the Redmi Note line. Note 8 Pro supports fast charging at 18 watts, is equipped with NFC and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The company also introduced a younger version of the device without the prefix Pro. She got a 6.3-inch Full HD screen, a Snapdragon 665 processor, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and four cameras with a 48-megapixel main sensor. In addition, the smartphone was equipped with a 4000 mAh battery with an adapter for quick charging, which will be put in the kit for the device.
The younger model Note 8 will cost $ 140 , and Note 8 Pro – $ 195 . Both devices will be available in China from September 3.
The first smartphone with a 64-megapixel camera was going to release Realme. In early August, the company showed the first pictures from the Realme XT device, and on August 27 the media published smartphone renders. However, Realme has not yet officially announced the device, has not published its characteristics and the date of the start of sales.
In addition to smartphones, Xiaomi introduced the first TV in the Redmi lineup. The device received a 70-inch display with a resolution of 4K. The TV is equipped with a USB connector, and owners of Xiaomi laptops and smartphones will be able to transfer images to it wirelessly. The cost of the device will be about 525.70 United States Dollar.
