YouTube mistakenly started banning videos of robot battles due to “cruelty”

Several YouTube bloggers told foreign media that the service began to block their videos with robot battles. The ban’s explanation said the videos contain animal cruelty scenes.

Such clarification did not suit the bloggers, and they decided to achieve justice. YouTube immediately recognized the error: the video verification algorithms did not work correctly. The service does have a ban on publishing videos with scenes of harsh treatment regarding animals, but this does not apply to mechanical devices.

Probably, the algorithm confused the names of the videos, which featured common nicknames of animals – in fact, that was the name of the robots.

Video with the battles of robots have already returned to the public domain.
