For ten years, the number of Russians, for whom television is the main source of information, has decreased from 94% to 72%. Most often, the news on TV is received by older people from 65 years old, least often – by young people under 25 years old. This was reported by Levada Center.

Confidence in television has decreased by 25% and is 54%. But it still remains the main source of information for Russians. Most often they watch “Russia-1” – 48%, First Channel – 47% and NTV – 36%. Information from social networks is recognized by 34% of Russians, from online publications – 32%. Telegram feeds are an important source of news for 1%.

On an open question, where the respondents named the names themselves, the most trust among Russians is journalists Vladimir Solovyov (23%), Andrei Malakhov (11%), Vladimir Pozner, Andrei Norkin, Olga Skabieva (6%) and Dmitry Kiselev (5%) .

About 56% of Russians regularly use social networks. The audience of instant messengers for messaging and calls has increased from 2016 from 31% to 62%.
