US companies will receive special licenses for cooperation with Huawei

American companies will be able to sell their Huawei products after receiving special licenses, the issuance of which will begin no earlier than two weeks later. This was reported by Reuters. The US has been talking about loosening US sanctions against Huawei for a long time, but the picture of how this will work remains unclear.

Licenses, stressed in the US Department of Commerce, will be issued in cases where there is no potential threat to the national security of the country.

Probably, the active actions of the American Ministry of Trade, lobbyists, as well as the recent conversations of Donald Trump and Xi Jinping point to the imminent resumption of active “IT cooperation” between the countries.

Two major US chip makers (who wished to remain unnamed), who supply their products to Huawei, announced plans to obtain new licenses after a representative from the US Department of Commerce.

According to Reuters, in 2018, Huawei spent $ 70 billion to purchase electronic components, of which $ 11 billion was received by Qualcomm, Intel and Micron Technology.
