Entertaiment Weekly reported the death of a corgi named Stuart, known for his role as Cheddar’s dog in the comedy series Brooklyn 9-9 (Brooklyn 9-9). Cheddar’s screen host was the head of the police department, Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Broger).

The owner Stuart published a dedication to him in his instagram, not specifying the cause of death, but writing that the dog “quietly fell asleep on his hands, listening to the sound of the ocean.” Stewart has a sister named Stella.

Cheddar first appeared on the screen in the very first season of the show, but Stuart played it the most times – he participated in five episodes, including a memorable visit to the wedding of Jake (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero).

As the series continues on NBC, it is currently unknown whether Captain Holt and her husband will mourn Cheddar’s death, or whether they will play a new casting for the role of the dog.
