Why does the cable charge the iPhone, but does not transfer data

I used the charging cable for a long time, I decided to connect my iPhone to my computer. The operating system does not see the smartphone, why?

First of all, make sure that the problem is in the cable. To do this, try to connect it to another connector on the computer and to another computer.

If for any connection the smartphone is not displayed in the operating system, but the iPhone is charged, most likely, one of the contacts is damaged in the cable.

Damage can occur both in the cable sheath itself and in the connector. Lightning port is usually more reliable than USB and less susceptible to damage.

In the USB-connector of the Type-A standard for charging, the extreme contacts are responsible, and for the transfer of data – the middle ones.

In any case, it is better not to repair the cable yourself , but to purchase a new one for replacement .

Please note that charging your smartphone with a non-working cable can lead to sad consequences.
