Playdate – retro console with a control lever and a monochrome screen

Nostalgia.

The company Panic introduced the Playdate console, made in the style of retro devices of the 90s. Outwardly, it resembles a Game Boy, only with an additional lever in addition to the control buttons.

For the development of the device was responsible Swedish company Teenage Engineering. The console is equipped with a monochrome display with a diagonal of 2.7 inches, and will come with exclusive games from the developers of Zak Cage, Bennett Foddy and Keith Takahashi.

Playdate will release 12 games that will be released every week. They will be available for free to all device buyers.

Sales of the console will not begin until 2020, but the exact date is still unknown. The price of Playdate will be $ 149, or about 9 thousand rubles (in the video itself, we confused everything, ed.). The first batch will be limited.
