In Japan, a man with a knife attacked a group of schoolgirls at a bus stop. He wounded at least 19 people.

The attacker died from self-inflicted injuries.

In the Japanese city of Kawasaki, a man armed with two knives attacked people standing near a bus stop near Noborito Park. This is reported by the AP.

According to media reports, he injured about 20 people, among them 13 pupils of elementary school aged from 6 to 7 years. Reported at least two dead.

According to unconfirmed information, the man was about 40-50 years old. He died in hospital from self-inflicted injuries. Police said the suspect’s identity and motives have not yet been established.

According to Japanese media reports, the ambulance staff set up an orange tent at the scene of the incident, where they provide first aid to the injured, as well as police and other officials transporting the injured to ambulances.

After the attack, the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan Masahiko Sibayama promised to strengthen the protection of educational institutions and school routes.
