GlobalCoin will begin testing at the end of 2019.
Facebook is preparing to launch its own payment system and cryptocurrency in the first quarter of 2020. This was reported by the service BBC.
According to the publication, the company will present the first details in the summer of 2019. At the start, GlobalCoin currency will be available in several countries. Facebook users will be able to make payments without an account at the bank. Cryptocurrency will be tied to the stocks of ordinary dollars.
In 2018, the head of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, consulted with the head of the Bank of England, Mark Carney, about the new cryptocurrency. The company also discussed legal issues with the US Treasury and the Western Union translation service.
For the first time, Facebook became known about cryptocurrency in May 2018. Then the company created a working group to research the blockchain technology, led by former PayPal head David Marcus. In the summer, the social network allowedcryptocurrency ads, but left ICO ads banned.
