Eurovision Song Contest 2019 Started In Israel

From Russia will perform the singer Sergey Lazarev with the song “Scream”.

Eurovision Song Contest officially began in Israel, the opening took place in Tel Aviv, The Jerusalem Post reports . The ceremony took place on the square near the Habima Theater in the center of the capital, the participants of the event passed along the “orange” path.

The competition will be held from 14 to 18 May. Sergei Lazarev will perform on Russia with the song Scream, which was written for him by singer Philip Kirkorov and Greek composer Dimitris Kontopoulos.

Lazarev is participating in the competition from Russia for the second time. In 2016, he finished third with the song “You are the only one”. It was also sponsored by Kirkorov and Kontopoulos.

In February, Ukraine refused to participate in Eurovision-2019. The reason for this was the connection of the alleged participants “with show business in the territory of the aggressor state.” Before the official refusal of the country to participate in Eurovision-2019, four Ukrainian teams refused to participate in Eurovision-2019: Maruv, Freedom-jazz , Kazka and Brunettes Shoot Blondes . Initially, the winner of the national selection of Maruv did not go to international competitions due to the “enslaving” terms of the contract and the scandal over her concerts in Russia.
