The social network will become brighter and lose the blue “cap” at the top of the screen.

At the annual conference for F8 2019 developers, Facebook introduced a website and application redesign called FB5. Social network will be “easier, faster, and exciting.” This is reported on the Facebook blog.

Users of the Facebook application will receive part of the updates immediately, and in the desktop version they will conduct a redesign “in the coming months”. In the new version, emphasis was placed on communities: the tab with them was reworked to make it easier for users to search for new groups. In addition, now in all sections, including video and marketplace, there will be tips on adding to certain groups.

Communities will perform different functions depending on the purpose. For example, in groups on health care it will be possible to communicate without a name, and employers will be able to create special publications with vacancies within the social network. Facebook will also begin to advise new friends based on common groups.

In the mobile application, the tab with the communities was brought to the center of the interface. At the same time in the web version it will be the penultimate to the right.

As noted in The Verge, in this way Facebook is moving away from the news feed, which is constantly causing problems, in favor of other social network functions. Journalists believe that Mark Zuckerberg decided to make the service look more like Reddit, rather than an outdated understanding of social networks.
