The OpenVPN company stated that it will not connect to the registry of information prohibited in the Russian Federation and restrict the access of its users to the sites specified in it. This was reported by Interfax.
The founder of OpenVPN, Francis Dinha, said that it is important for a company to provide its users with secure personal access to information all over the world. “OpenVPN cannot compromise and must protect the security and privacy of those we serve,” added Digny.
Governments and state institutions have the right to develop their policies and restrict their citizens from access to certain content. However, OpenVPN will continue to provide access to our software and services to people, no matter where they live or where they travel.

The press service of Kaspersky Labs reported that they are ready to fulfill the requirements of Roskomnadzor. They noted that the requirement of the RKN does not affect the main purpose of the service – “protection against data interception, for example, when using open Wi-Fi networks for online payment in a cafe”.
