Five VPN services refused to connect to the registry of banned sites in Russia at the request of Roskomnadzor

OpenVPN, NordVPN, VyprVPN, TorGuard and VPN Unlimited said they would not cooperate with RKN. Kaspersky said he is ready to connect to the system.

The OpenVPN company stated that it will not connect to the registry of information prohibited in the Russian Federation and restrict the access of its users to the sites specified in it. This was reported by Interfax.

The founder of OpenVPN, Francis Dinha, said that it is important for a company to provide its users with secure personal access to information all over the world. “OpenVPN cannot compromise and must protect the security and privacy of those we serve,” added Digny.

Governments and state institutions have the right to develop their policies and restrict their citizens from access to certain content. However, OpenVPN will continue to provide access to our software and services to people, no matter where they live or where they travel.

We have disabled all servers in Moscow and St. Petersburg and will no longer work with local data centers. We would like to note that the removal of the servers was our voluntary decision; no hardware capture occurred
