The robot finds in the pages of information that is included in the “pirate registry.”
As part of the anti-piracy memorandum, Yandex developed a software robot to search for and remove links to pirated content from search results. This was reportedby Vedomosti with reference to a company representative.
The robot finds sites that may contain pirated content. The program compares the pages with those that are already in the “pirate registry.” The chief financial officer of Yandex Greb Abovski added that the robot has already found several million pages with illegal content.
The press service clarified that the company would send the first list of found pages to copyright holders by the end of the week. If the system is approved, Yandex expects to start sending such reports regularly in April.
On November 1, the right holders and Internet companies signed an anti-piracy memorandum suggesting the creation of a registry of links with pirated content, as well as out-of-court cooperation of the parties.
