Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld died

He was 85 years old.

Fashion designer and creative director of the French fashion house Chanel Karl Lagerfeld died at the age of 85 years. Reports about it Le Figaro.

Updated at 15:45: According to the Public Journal, Lagerfeld’s death was caused by pancreatic cancer.

The publication did not clarify the cause of Lagerfeld’s death, but noted that he had been feeling ill for “several weeks.” According to the French edition of Pure People, on the evening of February 18 he was urgently hospitalized.

Karl Lagerfeld was born in Hamburg to the family of a bank employee Otto Lagerfeld. In 1952 he moved to Paris, and in 1974 founded the Karl Lagerfeld Impression line. In 1983, Lagerfeld became artistic director of the House of Chanel. In addition to clothing, Lagerfeld created perfumes, among which the fragrance with the smell of the book.
