In early February, customs officers in Moscow and St. Petersburg detained lots of Xiaomi smartphones worth 340 million rubles. The devices passed on the customs declaration under the Russian brand of smartphones Inoi. This was reported by Kommersant with reference to a source in the market and communications, information was confirmed by the CEO of Inoi Sergey Fomin.
Publication sources report that the recipient of smartphones was RBC Development, which since 2018 has imported electronics into Russia, declaring it to other brands in order to reduce tax payments.

Pavel Vyukov, director of Marvel-Distribution, Mobile Distributor, the official distributor of Xiaomi in Russia, believes that now in Russia the share of gray devices in sales of Xiaomi smartphones is 30-40%.
As Vedomosti stressed , except for Inoi, no one sells a smartphone on the Rostelecom operating system Aurora. This is the only mobile OS included in the register of domestic software. In September 2017, such a device was presented to the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.
