Polish media reported that the writer and author of the book “The Witcher” Andrzej Sapkowski went to the world with the studio CD Projekt Red. He sued her for copyright infringement. The writer wanted to receive compensation in the amount of $ 16 million, as he was sure that the igrodels earned on The Witches much more than they paid the Polish maitre.
The settlement agreement was reported by representatives of the writer. It is noted that the amount of payments will be much less than indicated in the petition of Mr. Pan Sapkowski. The developers decided to resolve the conflict before the trial in order to maintain a healthy relationship with the writer, as well as in recognition of his work.
According to Polish law, if projects that have taken a literary work as a basis bring income twice as much as the amount paid to the author, he may demand additional compensation.
