Media: Moscow State University graduate student detained on suspicion of making a bomb in a hostel

A graduate student of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University was detained on suspicion of making explosives in a university dormitory, an informed source told Interfax. According to the agency, the suspect is a member of an anarchist organization sentenced to fines for violence against a police officer.

As writes REN TV , six people are detained. One of them is a member of the anarchist left-wing cell of the People’s Self-Defense anarchists. His name is Azamat Miftakhov, he is 25 years old.

The interlocutor of “Interfax” confirmed that the detainee is 25 years old, he is a native of Nizhnekamsk. A man made explosives in a dorm room on the Lenin Hills. Traces of explosives, anarchist literature, army clothing, radios and telephones were found in the detainee’s room. An inspection of his room was carried out after January 17, he took out a plastic can and electric wires from there, leaving them in a public place. After that, the young man was hiding from his familiar professor, who allegedly was also an adherent of anarchist ideology.

Law enforcement agencies found him during a criminal investigation after finding an unexploded improvised explosive device, which was found in Balashikha on 11 January. According to Interfax, the detainee confessed to the manufacture of explosives in September 2018 – he also managed to test it. REN TV notes that we are talking about “Kise” – a liquid unstable explosive. The suspect allegedly tested her three times in a university park.

On January 18, Miftakhov told OVD-Info that he had been searched in his dormitory while he was not at home. A laptop, several phones, books and a large amount of money were confiscated from him. The man claimed that he did not know the reason for the search.
