Gamers of Belgium won: Electronic Arts will refuse to sell LIFTx in FIFA

Starting tomorrow, Electronic Arts will close the sale of Luthboxes in the FIFA 19 simulator. However, only in Belgium – players from other countries will still be able to buy points for unlocking sets with FUT footballers for real money.

In April last year, the Belgian authorities turned against the Luthboxes, which are mainly used in online games. Politicians said that publishers actually force gamers to donate, and it also adds elements of gambling.

Lutboxes became interested after the scandal with the Star Wars Battlefront 2 network shooter. Users foundthat for more or less quick discovery of the heroes, you need to either not get out of the game for days or invest real money. A wave of indignation has risen, which has forced developers to re-balance.
