Sheikh Dubai Mohammed ibn Rashid al Maktoum (Mohammed bin Rashid) presented the annual award for the development of gender balance in the workplace. As noted by The Guardian and Business Insider , the prize for the 2018 year went to only men.

Certificates and medals were awarded in several nominations: “The best governmental body supporting gender balance”, “Best federal body supporting gender balance” and “Best initiative in the field of gender balance”. They received the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Office for Competition and Statistics and the Ministry of Human Resources. The Deputy Prime Minister also received the award as “Person of the Year to Support Gender Balance”.

Since 2015, there is a premium in the UAE, which is awarded to government agencies that have made some progress in the participation of women in work processes. “Gender balance has become the mainstay of our state institutions,” the message says about the award sent out by the government of Dubai.

According to statistics from the United Nations Development Program, in 2015 there were 135,000 women in the labor market in the UAE, while in 1975 there were only 1,000. A study in 2018 showed that the country is leading in terms of the development of gender policy among the states of the Persian Gulf.
