Banksy depicted this picture on the “Bataklan” emergency door for a reason: it’s his choice as a contemporary artist, a show of respect and support. [/perfectpullquote]
According to BFMTV, the police did not record the invasion of the building, but noticed that they cut out the work of Banksy and found a screwdriver in place. A police source told Reuters that the criminals had stolen the door itself. Photos from the scene could not be found.
According to LCI, citing sources, the work was stolen by unknown persons in hoods; they were taken to surveillance cameras. Eyewitnesses reported that three unknown persons left the scene on a white truck. Police launched an investigation into the burglary, the newspaper noted.
Graffiti appeared at the end of June 2018. The black door shows the silhouette of a woman with a white veil, who tilted her head down.
On November 13, 2015, terrorists took hostages in the Bataklan theater, attacked several cafes and staged explosions near the Stade de France stadium, where a football match was then held. 130 people died, more than 150 were injured. Responsibility for the attack took the “Islamic State”.
