New Year is a new challenge for the creator of Facebook.
Mark Zuckerberg traditionally shared the New Year’s promise. In 2019, the founder of Facebook intends to organize a series of public discussions on the future and technology in society. In some events, he will take part in person.
As planned by Zuckerberg, he will meet with opinion leaders, experts and other members of the IT community every few weeks. It is not yet known in which format the conversations will take place, but the head of Facebook has described several details: he will try to make the discussions non-boring and completely open.
Zuckerberg suggested that the broadcast can go on his pages on Facebook and Instagram, or in any other media. When the first discussion will take place, he did not specify.
[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]In such discussions there is also a personal challenge for me. I am an engineer who is used to embody ideas and hope that they will speak for themselves. But given the importance of what we do, this is no longer enough.[/perfectpullquote] [perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]Therefore, I’m going to step over myself and take part in some of these debates about the future, the trade-offs we face, and where we want to go.[/perfectpullquote]
Zuckerberg annually talks about personal ambitious tasks for the next 12 months. Earlier, he promised to develop artificial intelligence to control the house, learn the native language of his wife’s relatives, Mandarin, read 25 books, visit each US state and run about 590 kilometers. According to the head of Facebook, all these plans he brought to life.
In 2018, Zuckerberg promised to arrange work on the bugs on Facebook, but he got into several major scandals. The social network was accused of using “propaganda” as a mouthpiece, 50 million people were accused of data leakage and criticized for custom-made criticism of competitors.
