Developers from the University of Washington taught the algorithm to animate the figures from paintings, photographs and cartoons

The computer first builds a “map” of the body, and then creates a 3D model from it and animates the movements.Researchers at the University of Washington have created an algorithm to revitalize people and characters in photographs, paintings or posters. The hero can be made to “get out”, sit down, run out or jump out of the image.

Unlike other developments, the project of researchers from the University of Washington allows you to create fairly accurate 3D models. In addition, the technology works with augmented reality: you can come to the museum and make the hero of a picture come out of it, to see in detail.
