SpaceX will launch HawkEye satellites intercepting radio signals from the Earth. They will be used by military and rescue workers.

Thanks to the satellites, it will be possible to “overhear” the conversations of terrorists or sea pirates.

On December 2, SpaceX will launch three HawkEye start-up satellites from Washington. These are the first commercial vehicles that can intercept radio signals from the Earth. It is reported by Bloomberg, citing the statement of the CEO of the company, John Serafini.

According to the top manager, 50% of HawkEye orders will come from the Ministry of Defense and its contractors, as well as from intelligence, and the rest from rescue teams that are looking for emergency beacons or other commercial companies.

The company will start with three satellites, and then the group will expand to 10 vehicles to cover the entire planet. As noted in Bloomberg, smugglers and criminals often turn off GPS transponders to avoid tracking.

Instead, they use satellite phones and CB radio stations. HawkEye satellites will track and locate such intruders in no more than 30 minutes.
