NASA has scheduled a test flight of the SpaceX commercial spacecraft of SpaceX on January 7, 2019. The launch will be carried out using the Falcon 9 launch vehicle. The ship, the systems of which will be tested, will be sent to the ISS. This will be the first orbital flight of the ship.
If the tests are successful, in the summer of 2019 a manned flight will take place – Demo-2. NASA astronauts Robert Benken and Douglas Hurley will be pilots, writes SpaceNews. SpaceX has planned additional flights between Demo-1 and Demo-2, including to check the operation of systems in emergency situations – in particular, emergency flight termination.
Also in the spring of 2019, a test flight of the CST-100 Starliner ship of the Boeing company – Orbital Flight Test should take place.
