Belorus wins Texas programmers competition

Gennady Korotkevich, who has already won contests and competitions in programming, has been marked with another victory. The website of the St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO) reported that a graduate student of the university won the Topcoder Open Marathon. Competitions were held in Dallas (Texas, USA).

The event is a programming tournament. This time Topcoder Open consisted of six types of competitions: Algorithm, Development, First2Finish, UI Design, UI Prototype and Marathon. The competition on the Topcoder Open Marathon track began on April 14 and consisted of four online rounds. Each was given only one task, and even the originator did not know the correct solution.

Participants had to write a program that would find the most effective response in a given time. Twelve best programmers of online stages went to the final in the US, which lasted ten hours. According to the results, our compatriot Gennady Korotkevich turned out to be the best.
