Users have made so much of the storyline that they themselves are confused. We helped them a little.
Reddit has a section called me_irl – a community of meme-lovers with a long history and lots of local jokes. Sometimes users of the sobreddit unite for the sake of joint activities – one of these took place on 15 November. Commentators of the “main page of the Internet” promoted one picture of a polar bear to a full-fledged detective story. But in the process they themselves became entangled in the plot.
It all started with a pixel animal, published by one of the users. For some reason, the bear asked the subscribers of me_irl not to give it to the police. As a result, users all day published memes about the polar bear, trying to continue the story of the fugitive. In some variations, he escaped from prison, in others – he appeared before the court, and someone introduced new heroes.
Within a few hours, a few dozen sequels of the detective story appeared in the section. Records on other topics almost did not appear. All activity had one problem – users did not coordinate actions with each other. Because of this, many were confused in plot twists – this was another local joke.
We studied dozens of fragments from the subreddit and compiled his own version of a polar bear detective story.
