The GSM Association (GSMA) voiced forecasts regarding the distribution of 5G in the CIS countries and Russia. The main attention was paid to Russia, which the experts considered most prepared for the introduction of new generation networks on a commercial basis. It is expected that 5G will actively work here by 2020, by 2025 the coverage will reach 80%.
For other countries, forecasts are rather vague, and no specific dates were announced (if you rely on information in the GSMA press release). Among the “other regions” that will launch services based on 5G by 2025, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Uzbekistan.
Recall, according to the plans announced earlier by the infrastructure operator beCloud, a test zone of 5G in Belarus may appear before the end of this year. The company noted that 5G individuals are not yet as interesting as, for example, large enterprises – at least in the coming years.
