At the presentation in New York, Apple introduced a new MacBook Air, the main feature of which was a 13.3-inch Retina-display with IPS-matrix. The frames around the new screen are 50% smaller, while the volume and thickness of the laptop has decreased.

The new Air runs on dual-core Intel Core i5 processors of the eighth generation with integrated graphics at 1.6 GHz (up to 3.6 GHz in Turbo Boost mode), LP-DDR3 RAM with a frequency of 2133 MHz and up to 16 gigabytes, as well as SSD up to 1.5 terabytes. As noted in The Verge, the new Apple device is the MacBook Pro “in the classic Air design.”

The fingerprint sensor has a built-in Touch ID sensor and is equipped with two Thunderbolt ports that work via USB-C. The screen of the new MacBook Air transmits 48% more colors than the display of the previous generation, and the resolution has quadrupled to 2560×1600 pixels.

Also in the Air, they improved the dynamics: now they are 25% louder, and the bass is twice as powerful as in the previous generation. Apple claims that the new MacBook can work 12 hours while surfing the Internet over Wi-Fi and up to 13 hours when watching movies from iTunes.

The characteristics of the new MacBook Air matched the information Bloomberg reported at the end of August. The laptop received a keyboard “butterfly” of the third generation and a new trackpad with the Force Touch function.

At the presentation, the company separately noted that the case of the updated Air is made of an alloy that uses recycled aluminum. Apple explained that it did not affect the durability and strength, and due to the new alloy carbon emissions in the production of a laptop were reduced by 50%.

The base model will come with 8GB of RAM, a 1.6GHz Core i5 processor and 128GB SSD. Sales of the new MacBook Air around the world, including in Russia, will begin on November 7 at a price of $ 1,199 (104,990 rubles in Russian prices) . It will be available in three colors: “silver”, “gray space” and “pink.”

Apple also unveiled a Mac Mini at a presentation in New York. He received an updated eighth generation Intel Core i5 processor with four cores instead of two in the previous generation. In addition, a version with a six-core Core i7 will be available.

The new Mac Mini supports up to 64GB of RAM and SSD drives up to 2TB. The device has four USB-C Thunderbolt-ports, HDMI, Ethernet and two regular USB-A ports. Mac Mini will be available for the first time in the color “gray space” and is also made of 100% recycled aluminum.

Sales of Mac Mini will start on November 7 at a price of $ 799 (59 thousand rubles). The basic model will be equipped with a quad-core Core i3 processor, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal.
