Karachentsov died in the intensive care unit of the 62nd Oncological Hospital in Moscow at 8:50 am. His heart stopped after a kidney failure.
Nikolai Karachentsov was born on October 27, 1944 in Moscow. In 1967, he graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School and, by distribution, went to the Moscow Leninsky Komsomol Theater, which in 1991 was renamed Lenkom. The fate of the actor was associated with this theater.
Karachentsov during his career played in 140 films. One of the most famous paintings with his participation were “White Dew”, “The Eldest Son” and “The Man from the Capuchin Boulevard”. The role of the actor was also brought to the roles in the rock opera “Juno and Avos” and the play “The Star and the Death of Joaquin Mureta”. In addition, Karachentsov dubbed cartoons and foreign films, for example, voiced the role of Frenchman Jean-Paul Belmondo. The actor also loved to sing and recorded over 100 songs.
In 2005, Karachentsov had an accident on Michurinsky Prospekt in Moscow, in which he received a head injury. After the operation and 26 days in a coma, he learned to walk and talk again.
In November 2017, the wife of the actor told me that doctors had found a malignant tumor in his lungs. He was treated for cancer, including in Israel.
Karachentsov was awarded many state awards. He is the Honored and People’s Artist of the RSFSR. He was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, 4th degree, the Order of Honor, and the Golden Order of Service to Art.
