Mug Life: three-dimensional memes from any photo

Another service for fun, but surprisingly able to squeeze a lot of everything from one shot.

In late October, Product Hunt showed a release version of the Mug Life service , which has been in closed beta for several months. He is able to create fairly accurate 3D models one by one — and then animate them as he pleases.

Since 2015, service has been made by two developers from Austin, Texas – Rob Cohen and Thomas Coles, who have more than 20 years experience in the video game industry. Actually, the animation that results from the processing of photographs by Mug Life neural networks is very similar to the animation of characters from video games.

You can play with other people’s photos, and you can play with your own – but no special cameras are needed for this. In Mug Life there are presets – you can immediately put some ready-made meme on the photo, and if you need more fine-tuning, you will have to pay for the subscription.

The final result can be saved to itself as a gif or looped video or immediately published in social networks.

While there is only an application for iOS , and, judging by the developer Twitter, the Android version is not expected in the near future.
