The fire at the Electrozinc plant occurred on the night of October 21. Its area exceeded four thousand square meters. A few hours later the fire was extinguished. In the management of Rospotrebnadzor in North Ossetia, they advised residents of two districts of Vladikavkaz not to take to the streets because of a fire. Later, several residents of the city complained of suffocation.
The press service of the Ministry of Environment told Interfax that the results of samples of harmful substances and heavy metals in the atmosphere will be ready on October 23. As of October 22, no pollutants were detected in the air.
