In Malta, a car exploder killed a journalist investigating offshore prime minister’s wife

Most of her investigations related to the “Panama archive”.

In Malta, a 53-year-old journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, who was investigating the Panamanian archive, died in a car bombing .

The journalist died the day of October 16. An explosive device was attached to her car, parked near the house. Because of the explosion, the car tore apart into several parts, some of which flew off to a nearby field.

The journalist published her last blog post at 2:35 pm, the message about the explosion came to the police after 3:00 pm Responsibility for the attack no one took.

According to local media, 15 days before the explosion, Galicia appealed to the police with a statement about receiving death threats.

The Prime Minister of Malta, Joseph Muscat, called the incident a “barbaric attack” and said that “he will not calm down until justice is done”. He added that Malta appealed for help in the investigation of the murder to the special services of other countries.

Everyone knows that Caruana Galicia harshly criticized me as a politician and as a person, but there can be no excuses for such barbaric actions.

The last investigation of the journalist concerned Muscat and his two closest supporters. She linked offshore companies of three people with the sale of Maltese passports and the transfer of payments from the government of Azerbaijan. In addition, she found out that the offshore company owned by Muscat’s wife receivedpayments from the daughter of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The Politico edition called Daphne Caruana Galicia “WikiLeaks woman”.
