He devoted his last years to the Stratolaunch project.

In the US, in the 66th year of life, entrepreneur and co-founder of Microsoft Paul Allen died of cancer . In early October 2018, the doctors found a tumor in him, but gave positive predictions.

The cause of Allen’s death was non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. In 2018, cancer was discovered by a Microsoft co-founder for the third time: before that, he had experienced the disease in 1983 and 2009.

My heart is broken due to the loss of one of my oldest and dearest friends. Without it, we would not have personal computers.

In 1975, Allen founded Microsoft with his school friend Bill Gates. They divided the shares in the company by 36% and 64% respectively. In 1983, the Microsoft co-founder first encountered cancer and left the company. He retained a seat on the board of directors and part of the shares.

After Microsoft, Allen took up investing. He invested in technology companies and the development of science. In 2011, the co-founder of Microsoft created the company Stratolaunch, which was engaged in the creation of an aircraft carrier capable of launching rockets into space from the atmosphere. In March 2018, the device successfully passed the first tests.

Allen was one of the richest people in the USA. His fortune was estimated at 20.3 billion dollars.
