Apple bought a startup to find talented musicians based on their songs

Apple continues to buy startups. This time, it became aware of a deal with the Asaii project. It is dedicated to the music industry and, apparently, will be integrated into the service Apple Music. The amount, as usual, is not disclosed – presumably, the startup cost less than $ 100 million.

Asaii collects information from music services and social networks about performers. Based on the data obtained, concert organizers and labels can plan marketing campaigns and tours of musicians. In addition, Asaii is able to predict which performer will become famous.

The deal between Apple and Asaii occurred shortly after Spotify announced advanced features for novice artists — for example, they would be able to upload their content directly without the participation of labels.
