According to media reports, during the launch of the Soyuz MS-10 manned spacecraft to the ISS , a freelance rocket accelerator outage occurred . NASA broadcast live information about the “accident”, after which the negotiations ceased.

Source “Interfax” on “Baikonur” reported that communication with the crew restored. The cosmonauts made an emergency landing in Kazakhstan, and a search and rescue squad had already arrived.

The source said that the accident occurred at the 119th second when the side accelerators of the rocket were separated from the central unit of the second stage. After that, the emergency system worked – the ship divided into compartments and launched a parachute.

The crew of the Soyuz MS-10 was Russian cosmonaut Alexei Ovchinin and American Nick Haig, the third place in the ship was occupied by cargo. The launch was timed to coincide with the centenary of the day when the Experimental Machine-Building Plant was established at RSC Energia, where Unions are made.
