Apple secretly gave up $ 30 million for a Danish startup

At the end of last year, Apple bought a Spektral startup from Denmark for 200 million kroons – in terms of the current rate it is about $ 30 million. The deal became known only now, and Apple still has not officially confirmed the purchase of Spektral.

The startup has been developing a technology that separates people from the background in photos and videos. The system is described as a “green screen” in real time. Now one of the co-founders of Spektral is Apple’s employee, which indirectly confirms information on the sale of a startup.

Spektral was founded in 2014. The company received $ 3.3 million from venture capital investors before it was acquired by Apple.
