Intel has introduced a new processor family Core i9, manufactured on 14-nm technology (it has been used since 2014). The truly next generation of Intel processors with a 10nm process technology – Cannon Lake – will appear in 2019. The 8-core (16 threads) Core i9-9900K processor with a clock frequency of up to 5 GHz in overclocking (at a base frequency of 3.6 GHz) became the “Monster” among the announced chips.
The cost of the top processor will be about $ 500. As noted in the company, with its help it is possible to achieve an increase in fps of 10% compared with last year’s decisions of a similar class, and up to 37% – processors three years ago.
Also presented Core i5 and Core i7 ninth generation. The i7-9700K works with 8 cores and the same number of threads at a clock frequency of up to 4.9 GHz in overclocking at the base frequency of 3.6 GHz. The i5-9600K has six cores and threads, the frequency is 3.7 GHz without overclocking and up to 4.6 GHz overclocking.
The announced price for i7-9700K is $ 373, i5-9600K is $ 262.
Intel decided to please the “extreme” users by announcing the Core X-Series line: Core i7 X-Series, Core i9 X-Series and Core i9 Extreme. The latter operates with 18 cores and 38 threads at a frequency of up to 4.5 GHz. Issue price – $ 1.8 thousand
The “regular” Core i9 X-Series i9-9960X (16 cores, 32 threads) will cost $ 1.7 thousand, the Core i9-9820X (10 cores, 20 threads) – $ 890, the “simple” Core i7-9800X (8 cores , 16 threads) – $ 590.
