Indonesian Ambassador to Russia Mohamad Vahid Supriyadi said that the delay in the execution of the contract for the supply of 11 Russian Su-35 fighters is in no way connected with the US anti-Russian sanctions.
This is due to technical details, not sanctions.
The ambassador also recalled that, according to the contract, Indonesia will partially pay for the aircraft in goods.
The contract lists at least sixteen products, and now the Minister of Trade, together with his colleague from Russia, is discussing their type. The process is still in progress.
Earlier it was reported that the implementation of the contract for the supply of 11 Indonesia fighter jets is being postponed, referring to two top managers of defense companies and a source close to the government apparatus.
The contract for the supply of 11 Su-35 fighter jets to Indonesia was signed in February 2018. According to unofficial data, its cost is more than $ 1 billion. It was reported that Indonesia will receive a commercial loan from Russia for the purchase of fighters.
