Conor McGregor surrendered to police after Habib Nurmagomedov’s bus attack

The reason for the attack, most likely, was the conflict with the participation of Artem Lobov – the Irish sparring partner.

29-year-old Irish mixed martial artist Conor McGregor was detained in New York after he attacked a bus with Russian Habib Nurmagomedova and other participants of the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC).

New York police did not immediately detain McGregor, first he had to look for him. Soon after the arrest warrant was issued, the Irishman voluntarily surrendered .

On April 5, in Brooklyn, McGregor, his sparring partner, Artem Lobov, and several others attacked a bus with UFC fighters. The Irishman threw himself into the bus with chairs, bicycle racks and trolley-like objects, and also broke a window.

Nurmagomedov was not injured, but American fighter Michael Chiesa received cuts on his face and was taken to hospital. At the time of the attack in the cabin were athletes Rose Namayunas and Karolina Kovalkevich.

According to preliminary data, the reason for the attack was the conflict between Nurmagomedov and Lobov, which occurred this week at the hotel. MacGregor was accused of not standing up for a sparring partner.

Conflict Lobova and Nurmagomedova

According to, an attack on a bus could hardly be a marketing ploy or staging. Lobova was removed from the battle against American Alex Caceres; charges have not yet been brought against McGregor.
