Sharp introduced the first smartphone with an OLED display of its own production

Sharp introduced in Japan the flagship smartphone Aquos Zero, which received a curved OLED display of its own production of this company. This is Sharp’s first attempt to enter the OLED market for mobile phones. The diagonal of the new screen is 6.2 inches, its resolution is 1440 × 2992 pixels, the DCI-P3 and Dolby Vision color space is supported.

Aquos Zero is equipped with a Snapdragon 845 processor, 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. The battery capacity is 3130 mAh, the device is running Android 9 Pie “out of the box.” The main camera is 22.6 megapixel, the front one is 8 megapixel.

The dimensions of the smartphone are 154 × 73 × 8.8, weight – 146 grams. A small weight was achieved thanks to the light alloy for the chassis and the carbon cover at the back. In Japan, sales of mobile flagship Sharp will start before the end of the year, it is not specified whether it will reach the international market.

The opinion is voiced that Sharp will be able to compete with LG and Samsung in the production of OLED-panels for mobile devices.
